Committee Members Present: Donna Bushey, Mary Carr, William LaDuke, Carole Raymonda Chris Stromer, Sue Tillinghast Carol Van Riper

 

Committee Absent: BOE, Alicia Berney, Jerry Griffin Peg Hungerford, Danielle Johnson, Jennifer Whittaker

 

Meeting called to order by Facilitator Chris Stromer at 3:15 p.m.

 

Minutes of the 10 February 2009 meeting were accepted.

           

Shareholder Reports

            Davis

            -Author visit with Brod Baggert March 30th and 31st includes evening program

            -Spring Fling scheduled for the 19th

            -Kindergarten concert scheduled for 2 April at 6 pm

            -Next backwards reward goal is set

            -Science night a hit

 

            Flanders

            -Author visit scheduled for 2 April

            -Bookmark contest winner and 5 friends get pizza with author

            -Academic showcase set for 7 April

            -PBIS reward will duct tape Mrs. Seymour to wall

 

            St. Joseph’s

            -Ziti dinner and science night well received despite weather

            -24 February SIC presentation over

            -Math testing done

            -Star lab presentations being done currently by Mrs. Finch

            -Tim Feeney presenting on 20 March

            -PBIS reward to Chateaugay’s Wizard of Oz performance

            -Author visit on 1 April

 

            Middle School

            -NYS math testing finishing this week

            -Academic showcase scheduled for 25 March with book fair and bake sale

            -Staff working with Mr. Stewart on Elements of Middle School

            -Lip Sync was annual success

            -Had crazy sock day and planning crazy hair day 17 March

            -PBIS reward included presentation by Precious Pups and movie

            -13 March dance planning as well as June dance

            -Flower Power bulb sale as well as shamrocks for MD

            -17 March is 8th grade Career Day

            -24 March PBIS reward includes a magic show

            -Yearbooks are on sale

            -New cameras insalled-17 inside and 2 outside

            -Discipline referrals are way down

            -Basement flood caused IT to have “issues”

            -BOE presentation on 10 February included mini lessons

            -3rd quarter- 5 week progress reports out

 

            Franklin Academy

            -Mr. Griffin and Mrs.Tourville taped to wall for PBIS

            -Science club to RIT to observe Robot Competition

            -Model UN traveling 13-15 March

            -Forensics to Potsdam tournament 14 March for state qualifier

            -Play presents 42nd Street first weekend in April

            -Vote for prom contest until 13 March

            -Spring Fling ??? discussions include whether to keep it

            -Chemistry mentors presenting to St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES 20 March

            -Planning regional staff development for 23 October 09-networking

            -Possible purchase of an Employee assistance program

-Future virtual field trips include sharks and sea life rescue

-Schedule may be seen at Neric or Boces sites

-Wellness Committee did not meet

-Next DWSIC meeting 12 May at Davis Elementary, Mrs. Tillinghast’s room, 3:15 p.m.
