Tech. Stand.

    The Malone Central School District’s Board of Education has adopted the following list to serve as minimum skill standards in the use of technology to retrieve and communicate information. 

    The list includes performance indicators (evidence you can do something) in grade-level clusters.  Use these skills to judge your own technological literacy. 

    Can you perform all the tasks listed for all grade levels?  For your convenience, I have listed below the standards that are specific to grades 9 - 12.  However, you may also need to read and understand the skills for grades K - 8.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS FOR GRADES 9-12 ONLY:

    1. Have demonstrated performance indicators for grades PK-2, 3-5, and 6-8 (see the complete document download above).
     
    2. Make informed choices among technology systems to decide which best serve the students’ needs.

    3. Show and advocate an understanding of copyright, ethics, and plagiarism.

    4. Routinely use technology to meet personal and educational needs.
     
    5. Be aware of technology-based options for lifelong learning, including distance and distributed education.
     
    6. Use technology to collaborate with others to produce creative works (e.g. creating web pages, slide shows, etc.).
