Alek and the Princess
Once upon a time there was a guy named Alek. He was shopping in town and he saw the princess. He heard that the princess was having a wedding. He asked her if he could play in her wedding. The princess said, “You have to do two tasks, or you can’t play in my wedding. The first task is that you have to make drum sticks.”
“Ok I will do it,” Alek said. Alek wandered off into the woods and started to make the sticks. He was having trouble making them. Alek ran into a fox.
The fox said, “Why are you in the woods this late at night?”
“I might play for the princess’s wedding this weekend,” Alek said.
“Oh, do you need help?” the fox asked.
“Yes I do. Can you go find me some big logs?” Alek asked. The fox brought back the logs. Alek made the first drum stick after five hours. Now he asked the fox, “Can you get me another big log, so I can make the other drum stick. I need a rest.”
“Yes, I will go get you another big log so you can make the other drum stick,” said the fox. Alek finally made both of the drum sticks. Alek went into town to give them to the princess.
The princess said, “Those are pretty good. Now you have to do the final task. You have to write a song for my wedding.”
“Ok, I will write a song for you.” Alek went home and started writing the song. He tried fifteen different songs before he got it right. He went to sleep, and when he woke up, the song was gone. Alek said, “I must have put it in the fire with the pile of papers.” Then Alek had to rewrite the song in an hour. He did, then he brought it to the princess.
“This is a great song. You must have stayed up all night to write it,” the princess said.
“I did stay up all night to write it,” said Alek.
“Well, you can play in my wedding. My wedding is tomorrow night. It starts at 5:00 pm sharp,” said the princess.
“Ok, I will be there,” said Alek. Alek went and told his band that they would be playing in the princess’s wedding tomorrow night at 5:00 sharp. They all got a goodnight’s sleep.
Alek and his band played fantastic at the wedding and everyone had fun. The next day, all the people talked about Alek and his band. The band was approached by the best record producer in the world, and they became professional. Everyone lived happily ever after.
