U.S. History and Government is a course designed to prepare students for life in our democratic society. The purpose of the curriculum is to show students how the Constitution is a “living” document and how it is relevant to everyday life. A chronologica l approach to American history is used as a vehicle to teach how the Constitution governs our behavior and influences the operation of government at all levels.
The students are required to pass a Regents exam at the end of the year-long course in order to receive graduation credit.
