INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT
TEAMS
If a pupil presents
perplexing educational or social problems, it is appropriate to meet and review
problems in evidence and plan a course of action.
This is done through an instructional support team meeting.
Attending the meeting will be the staff involved with the child.
Frequently, a parent, a counselor, a school psychologist, community
agency representatives, and the building administrator will also participate.
All individuals will be asked for their input as to:
the pupil's strengths and weaknesses, parent involvement, previous
testing, community agency involvement, social capabilities, and
interrelationships between other staff and other students.
From this meeting will come a common understanding of the child and an
agreed upon plan to help make him/her more successful.
At the end of the meeting, a follow-up will be scheduled.
