Introduction to Scholarships

The information contained in this web site regarding scholarships is to be used as a resource when seeking scholarship awards. Seniors have received a scholarship booklet in September reflecting much of this information. However, it is important to check the scholarship board and web site frequently. As the year progresses the amount of scholarships available increases. Applications for the scholarships listed are available in the Guidance Office unless otherwise noted.

Many students are obtaining scholarships over the internet. Most of the scholarships request an official high school transcript. If this is the case, the student MUST download the scholarship and bring it in to their counselor and they will attach a transcript and mail it in for the student.

It is absolutely necessary that these scholarships arrive at their destination on time, whether it is mailed by the student or by the Guidance Office. Allow time when observing due dates for completion of recommendations, transcripts and mailing time.

Scholarship Board

The best source for local, state, college specific and some boardnational scholarship opportunities is the Scholarship Board. This board is located at Franklin Academy right outside the Guidance Office on the left hand side.  This board is updated at least weekly by the Guidance staff. Seniors should begin to look at the board on a weekly basis beginning in September. Continue to check the board and this site for the most up-to-date information.
