September

September 6th - First day of classes.

September 9th    --Regular registration deadline for the Oct 1st SAT. This is the one you want--no late fee. To register click here: www.collegeboard.com. When registering for the SAT exam our High School code is 332 980 and our Test Center Number is: 33-576. You will need these numbers to register! -----Please note: if you are interested in taking an SAT prep class through the school DO NOT register for this one.  We are hoping to have a prep class for the November SAT.

September 15th--College representative from University of Rochester will be here in the Guidance Office at 11:00.  Students interested in meeting with the rep should stop down in the Guidance Office a day or two ahead of time and get a pass.

September 15th--College representative from St. Lawrence University will be here in the Guidance Office at 1:45.  Students interested in meeting with the rep should stop down in the Guidance Office a day or two ahead of time and get a pass.

September 16th-- Deadline for registration for the Oct 22nd ACT test
(without paying the late fee). To register click here: www.act.org. When registering for the ACT our High School code is: 332-980 and our Test Center code is: 181300. You will need these #’s to register.
ACT (No Writing)-$34; ACT (Plus Writing)-$49.50.

 

September  21st  -- Late registration deadline for the Oct 1st SAT. If you have waited this long, tsk, tsk! It will now cost the regular fee of $49+ $26 late fee.
You might want to consider registering for the November test. (See below)

 

September 27--College representative from SUNY at Plattsburgh will be here in the Guidance Office at 10:00.  Students interested in meeting with the rep should stop down in the Guidance Office a day or two ahead of time and get a pass.

 

September 30--Late registration deadline for the Oct. 22nd ACT. If you have waited this long, tsk, tsk! It will now cost the regular fee +a late fee of $21.00.

 

 

 

October

 

 

October 1st--SAT 8:00AM-1:00PM at Franklin Academy.  Please bring picture ID, two(2) number 2 pencils, calculator, and a snack.

 

October 4th   --Workshop for students applying for Elks Scholarships and grants.  Workshop held at the Malone Elks Lodge at 7:00PM.  Purpose in to show students how to complete the forms for all of the Elks Scholarship Program as well as general information about applying for other scholarships.  No charge to attend. Parents are welcome.

 

October 4th(Tues)--College Night, Saint Lawrence University--6:00--8:00PM
                         Over 100 schools, etc available for contacts and information.

        Also on this night at St. Lawrence:  Selective Colleges Panel-
 5:15-6:00Chance to ask admission counselors panel questions about the college search process to include admissions requirements, campus visits/interviews, application process, college essays, scholarships and more.

October 5th(Wed)--College Night, Clinton Community College (please note: this is a change from previous years at Plattsburgh State)--6:30--8:30PM

October 5th--College representative from University of Albany (SUNY) will be here in the Guidance Office at 12:30.  Students interested in meeting with the rep should stop down in the Guidance Office a day or two ahead of time and get a pass.

October 5th--College representative from Albany School of Pharmacy will be here in the Guidance Office at 1:15.  Students interested in meeting with the rep should stop down in the Guidance Office a day or two ahead of time and get a pass.

 

October 6th--Deadline for the PSAT registration. Please bring either a check or cash (amount: $16 made out to Malone Central) into the Guidance Office before the end of the day.  If eligible for a waiver please see your counselor.  Students will receive more information by Guidance.

October 6th--Transition Panel 5:30-7:30 PM @ North Franklin Education Center, Malone.  Sponsored by the Special Education Parent Center & Regional Special Education Technical Assistance Support Center.  "Do you have an adolescent child who will be an adult in a few short years? Graduating soon? Aging out of school-age programming? Are you uncertain what services are available to support your child into adulthood?"  Representatives from various agencies will discuss how their agency can help you and your child ease into the word of independence.  To register please contact Debbie at 518-569-7124 or dbgiroux@gmail.com.

November 5th--ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) 8:00AM, Franklin Academy.

November 11th--No School-Veterans Day.

November 15th--College representative from Clinton Community College will be here in the Guidance Office at 10:45.  Students interested in meeting with the rep should stop down in the Guidance Office a day or two ahead of time and get a pass.

November 17th--College representative from SUNY Canton will be here in the Guidance Office at 1:00.  Students interested in meeting with the rep should stop down in the Guidance Office a day or two ahead of time and get a pass.  There will be an opportunity to apply to Canton at that time waiving the $50 application fee and waiting time.


November 23rd--25th-No School-Thanksgiving.

 

SENIORS: Get those college applications into the Guidance Office.

SENIORS--College applications need to be turned in as soon as possible to Guidance. (Please do not wait until the week before holiday break or you will get nothing but coal in your stocking!!!)

PSAT-- Results are in!!  Counselors presented students with their scores as well as info regarding PSAT, SAT, and ACT.

June 11th--Academic Awards, Monday at 6:30PM at Franklin Academy.  Please dress nicely for the occasion, pictures may be taken.

 

June 13th--22nd--REGENTS Exams.

June 22nd--Last day of school. Teachers are available in the morning for students to get their grades. This is your opportunity to receive grades before report cards are mailed. Do not call Guidance for your grades.

June 23rd--Graduation 10:00AM at Franklin Academy.

June 25th--Summer school registration.
