Program Descriptions

Davis School offers a variety of educational opportunities to help your child learn and grow.  We accommodate learning styles by offering various types of programs as listed below.  Each program is taught by a highly qualified New York State certified teacher.

Pre-Kindergarten

A full-day and one half-day program serving children who will be age-eligible for kindergarten in the following school year.  Approximately 16 students are in each class staffed by a certified teacher and full-time teaching assistant.

Young-Fives

Young Fives is a full-day, full-year, academic program for children who will be turning five during the months of September, October or November. These children are no longer age eligible for a Pre – K program. The curriculum is designed to increase their opportunities for social, emotional and cognitive growth through a balance of play and structured activities before they enter Kindergarten the following school year.
 

Kindergarten through Grade 2

Full day time honored programs with class sizes ranging between 16 to 18 students.  Classes are staffed with certified teachers and shared teaching assistants. 

Primary Multi-Age

An alternative to the regular first and second grade classroom, Primary Multiage classrooms are made up of 1st and 2nd grade students together.  Students entering these classrooms in first grade will remain with the same teacher throughout first and second grade.

Grade1-2 Looping

Similar to a traditional classroom makeup, students are grouped based on their grade level.  Students entering this program in first grade will "loop" to second grade with the same teacher
